NYCRAMA Collegiate Relations

Our chapter is committed to supporting and strengthening the region's colleges and universities by developing programs and lending our chapter's resources to students, faculty and staff. The following are just a few of the many ways we work with local schools:

NYCRAMA's Student Scholarship

NYCRAMA Student Scholarship

The New York Capital Region Chapter of the American Marketing Association (NYCRAMA) Student Scholarship recognizes and rewards talented student marketers (and their faculty mentors) for their marketing talent. The Student Scholarship augments the competition for the former Student Marketer of the Year Award by not only recognizing sound thinking, but also providing a monetary award.

In order to be considered for the award, students develop a written marketing plan, which can be included in the students’ portfolios.

Eligibility

Students attending the following accredited colleges and universities in the Capital Region are eligible:

  • Adirondack Community College
  • Empire State College
  • Excelsior College
  • Hudson Valley Community College
  • Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
  • The Sage Colleges
  • Schenectady County Community College
  • Siena College
  • Skidmore College
  • SUNY Cobleskill
  • SUNY New Paltz
  • The College of St. Rose
  • Union College and Union Graduate College
  • University at Albany

Students must be AMA members in order to compete.

Guest Lecturers

Our professional chapter has hundreds of members in every facet of marketing, advertising and PR. We've even helped find HR, accounting and legal professionals to speak with student groups about issues specific to our industry.

Student Marketer of the Year

Each spring, our chapter awards the top marketing students during a luncheon presentation that recognizes their achievements. The grand prize winner is named student marketer of the year and receives $1,000.

Networking Opportunities & Mentorships

Every month, our chapter reaches out to students and professors with invitations to hear world-class speakers  These events are great opportunities to meet chapter members (and future employers!).

Our professional members are available for mentorship and can provide a real-world perspective on the fields of marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, and more.
