NEW!!  New York Capital Region Chapter Student Scholarship

The New York Capital Region Chapter of the American Marketing Association (NYCRAMA) Student Scholarship recognizes and rewards talented student marketers (and their faculty mentors) for their marketing talent. The Student Scholarship augments the competition for the former Student Marketer of the Year Award by not only recognizing sound thinking, but also providing a monetary award.

In order to be considered for the award, students develop a written marketing plan, which can be included in the students’ portfolios.

The prize structure is as follows:

• Grand Prize “Student Marketer of Year” award plus $2,500 scholarship
• 1st Prize $1,000 scholarship
• 2nd Prize $500 scholarship

Please note: Not all prizes may be awarded. If the judges determine that there is no clear winner at the 1st and 2nd prize levels, then those prizes may not be awarded.

Eligibility

Students attending the following accredited colleges and universities in the Capital Region are eligible:

• Empire State College
• Excelsior College
• Hudson Valley Community College
• Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
• The Sage Colleges
• Schenectady County Community College
• Siena College
• Skidmore College
• SUNY Cobleskill
• The College of St. Rose
• Union College and Union Graduate College
• University at Albany

Students must be AMA members in order to compete.

NYCRAMA Collegiate Relations Committee

Our chapter is committed to supporting and strengthening the region's colleges and universities by developing programs and lending our chapter's resources to students, faculty and staff. The following are just a few of the many ways we work with local schools:

Guest Lecturers. Our professional chapter has hundreds of members in every facet of marketing, advertising and PR. We've even helped find HR, accounting and legal professionals to speak with student groups about issues specific to our industry.

Internships. Together with mybeanstalk.com, we've helped match hundreds of students with internships at regional companies. There are dozens of postings each week!

Student Marketer of the Year. Each spring, our chapter awards the top student marketing students during a luncheon presentation that recognizes their achievements. The grand prize winner is named student marketer of the year and receives a scholarship. For the Student Scholarship Appliication, please see below.

Networking Opportunities. Every month, our chapter reaches out to students and professors with invitations to hear world-class speakers  These events are great opportunities to meet our chapter members (and future employers!).
