A long standing committmentThe New York Capital Region Chapter of the American Marketing Association has sponsored a wide range of educational opportunities for marketers since its inception. These programs have been designed to benefit both the individuals who attend and the businesses/organizations they represent. The chapter has also long supported programs and recognition for student marketers at all of the area's colleges and universities, including the University at Albany, Union College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, the College of Saint Rose, Siena College, Skidmore College, and Hudson Valley Community College. The chapter has also partnered with numerous business and community organizations on a variety of projects and events. Strengthening our community supportNow, the chapter is poised to take its community involvement to a whole new level. A newly created board position of Vice President for Community Relations will focus on strengthening the AMA's presence and involvement in community projects. A primary objective of the area will be to better support not-for-profit organizations' needs through programming, mentoring and the facilitation of internships that will provide tangible benefit and a rewarding experience for both the students and the organization. These initiatives will be supported by a newly created community fund and will be supplemented by efforts to secure available project grant money. Anyone seeking more information on our community initiatives can contact Rebecca Santoli at (518) 783-7361or via e-mail at community@nymarketing.org. |
