Professional Development

Through its 500 professional and collegiate chapters, the AMA serves its members by enhancing their professional career development. AMA chapters sponsor meetings, workshops and seminars that allow members to interface with the leading innovators and thinkers in business, research and academia. Chapter meetings provide a forum to expand personal and professional contacts by networking with area marketing professionals from all different industries.

Continuing Education

Through seminars, workshops and more than 25 national conferences held in metropolitan locations across the country, the AMA continually upgrades the knowledge and skills of its members. Programs range from customer satisfaction measurement, and microcomputers, to research, promotion, business-to-business marketing and more.

The AMA has a diverse group of eight publications available to enhance professional development and keep in tune with the latest research and trends in various fields and industries:

  • Marketing News-biweekly magazine featuring new ideas and developments in marketing.
  • Marketing Research-Quarterly magazine with in-depth articles on research methods and new technologies for the research professional.
  • AMA International Member and Marketing Services Guide-comprehensive guide of marketing services and AMA members.

Marketing Books

The AMA publishes some of the most important titles in marketing so members can make learning an ongoing process. AMA books address leading edge topics in both the practical and theoretical areas of marketing, such as: Marketing Strategies for Growth In Uncertain Times, AMA Complete Guide to Strategic Planning for Small Business and AMA Dictionary of Marketing Terms.

Information Center

The AMA provides a reference center with 1,400 subject headings, 5,000 books and over 100 periodicals on marketing issues.

Personalized services include reference searches for secondary information and bibliographic searches by AMA professional librarians.

Special Interest Groups

The AMA sponsors a variety of special interest groups that address career development needs in specialized areas for Marketing Management, Marketing Research and Marketing Educators.

Programs, publications and seminars target the needs of specific industries: Healthcare Marketing, Agribusiness Marketing Research, Global Marketing, Business Marketing, Consumer Marketing, Marketing Education, Marketing Research and Services Marketing.
